Nestled at 1-3 The Crescent, this hotel is perfectly positioned to provide guests with breathtaking coastal views and easy access to Scarborough's vibrant attractions.

With a commendable rating of 4.2, The Central Hotel has earned accolades for its spacious and clean rooms, welcoming ambiance, and particularly its remarkable staff. Visitors like Laura Stephenson have praised the hotel for its "one of the best rooms in Scarborough" with decor that elevates the experience even when food service is unavailable. The friendly staff ensure a pleasant stay, taking care of minor details that could enhance future visits.

Guests also appreciate the inviting bar area and the overall comfort of the accommodations, as Bill McDill noted regarding the room's cleanliness and space. While parking options are available at an additional fee, there is public parking nearby, making accessibility a breeze.

The hotel’s amenities cater well to various needs, offering free Wi-Fi, air conditioning, and pet-friendly rooms. Suzanne Walls highlighted the abundance of tea and coffee in the rooms along with the support from staff that goes above and beyond for guests. This is further echoed by Jade Leonard, who commended the staff’s attentiveness and willingness to accommodate families with children, providing facilities that assure comfort and convenience.

One of the best rooms in Scarborough, unfortunately no food was being served during my stay but the decor certainly makes up for it and the staff are so friendly. My new go to, for a wonderful night's sleep by the sea. A few minor housekeeping details to consider, reception assures me that all would be sorted in time for a return visit... to be perfectly honest, it made no difference to the feeling of joy to wake up in such a beautiful room and historic location. I really should be keeping this a secret... but it's too good not to share

Enjoyed our stay, loved the bar area. Room was spacious and clean. Parking is available for a few cars, i'd recommended paying extra at time of booking. Although there's public parking just behind hotel,it was £9 for 24 hrs.

Lovely spacious rooms, clean, plenty of tea, coffee and toiletries. Staff very friendly, could do enough. Although no food provided, not an issue as situated in the heart of Scarborough. You can take food back to your room as well. Highly recommend no cash taken card only. This was the only down side as the GBP is still legal tender and everyone should accept it, according to the Bsnk of England and the Law.

Sad to see the vic closed but very happy to of found this place. Location could not be beat and the comfort and cleanliness of the rooms were fantastic. But what makes this place so perfect is the staff I had the pleasure of interacting with 4 of them and they were all warm, welcoming and helpful. Not saying this place is perfect paying extra for parking grates, the selection of draft in the bar is tiny and the decoration in the bar also is very overpowering in a stuffed animal way which made most of my party uncomfortable...But even with those the level of quality and the key parts of comfort, cleanliness and location means I will use again.. ...update so we stayed for 1 night using 3 rooms as a party of 6. Next day half party went to brid and whilst they were there I rebooked for them to stay the following night back at the central. If that doesn't show how happy we were then what does.

The staff were absolutely amazing, I contacted them prior to arrival to ask for a room accessible by lift as I was staying with a baby and toddler, they were able to confirm this and put me in a room right next to lift. They also provided a cot for my baby. On arrival about 10am they were happy for me to leave my bag until check in time and noticing I was struggling with pram on gravel offered me an alternative entrance which was much easier. Both the man in the morning and the lady in the evening were so friendly and helpful, they even recommended a lovely cafe for breakfast. The room itself was very spacious, with plenty of room for a double bed, cot, sofa, wardrobe and desk. There was a shower over bath in the ensuite which I prefer with little ones, there was a little rust in the bottom of the bathtub but no mold anywhere, the room seemed very clean to me. I absolutely would stay here again The lift is absolutely tiny but nothing can be done in a lovely old building just something to keep in mind
